Jean A. Frost

Jean Alva Frost, 79, of Janesville, WI passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 following a 4 year battle with cancer. Jean was born June 2, 1932 in Wind Lake, WI, the daughter of Howard and Mary (Skarie) Hanson. She attended Apple School in Wind Lake, graduated from Rochester Ag School, Union Grove Normal School and later received BA and Master’s Degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. She married Ralph Edward Frost on June 12, 1954 at the Norway Lutheran Church in Wind Lake. Jean taught school in Norway, WI and Muskego, WI for many years. She was a life-long member of Norway Lutheran Church in Wind Lake and since moving to Janesville, an associate member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Janesville. She was a member of the Martha Clausen Ladies and the Retired Teachers Association.
Jean Frost is survived by her husband, Ralph, 2 sons, Daniel (Lucia) of Andover, MN, Philip (Tammy) of Brodhead, WI, 6 grandchildren, Jessica Jean, Jarod, Joshua, Lindsay, Caleb and Levi, 1 brother, Bill (Karen ) Hanson, 1 sister, Helen (Robert) Funk , nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Olene Johnson and 2 brothers, Donald “Duke” Hanson and Wayne Hanson.
Visitation will be from 9 a. m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Norway Lutheran Church, Wind Lake, WI. A memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. A committal service will follow in the Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Following services, there will be a buffet lunch at White Fox Den II, 28023 Kramer Rd. and Highway 36, Waterford, WI. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home assisted the family.
